Terms of Service

tuckt is a personal financial tracking and modelling application ("the App") operated by Dovestar Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17445391), registered office Doves Barn, Swattenden Lane, Cranbrook, Kent, TN17 3PN ("Dovestar", "we", "us", "our").

1. About these Terms

By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, don't use the App.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of the United Kingdom to use tuckt.

3. Your account

• You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure, and must not permit another person to use your account
• You must provide accurate information when creating your account
• You're responsible for all activity under your account
• You must notify us promptly at support@tuckt.co.uk if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms

4. Financial, tax and investment information

What tuckt does

• Records financial information you supply
• Performs calculations based on that information
• Provides projections and models (e.g. retirement income, capital gains estimates)
• Provides general educational information
• Generates AI commentary based on your data (see Section 5)

What tuckt does not do

• Recommend specific investments
• Determine whether an investment is suitable for you
• Provide personalised regulated financial advice
• Provide tax advice
• Provide legal advice
• Guarantee investment, retirement, or tax outcomes

All figures, projections, tax calculations, and AI commentary are estimates for informational purposes only. Past performance, projections and estimates are not guarantees of future results. This includes retirement income projections, tax-free lump sum estimates, Defined Benefit pension notional valuations (calculated using a standard approximation, not your scheme's actual commutation terms), and capital gains estimates.

Where appropriate, seek advice from an appropriately qualified and regulated financial adviser, tax adviser, or other professional before making significant financial decisions.

We are not liable for any financial loss arising from decisions made based on information or insights provided by the App, subject to Section 16 (Liability) and your statutory rights.

5. AI features

The App may use third-party artificial intelligence services to power analysis and chat features (see our Privacy Policy for details of the specific provider(s) currently in use).

• AI-generated content is produced automatically and is not reviewed by a financial adviser, tax adviser, or other professional before being provided to you
• AI-generated content may contain errors or inaccuracies and does not constitute financial, investment, tax, or legal advice — see Section 4
• You should not rely solely on AI-generated content when making financial, investment, tax, pension, or other significant decisions
• AI features are scoped to discuss your personal finances and the App's features only
• The quality and relevance of AI responses depends on the information you have chosen to enter into the App

6. Accuracy and third-party data

tuckt deals with information across investments, property, pensions, capital gains, retirement projections, bank data, market prices, and AI analysis. This data and these calculations can be wrong or incomplete, including because:

• Market data can be delayed, unavailable, or inaccurate
• Third-party data (including from open banking or market data providers) can be inaccurate or out of date
• Tax rules and rates can change
• Exchange rates fluctuate
• Property valuations you enter are estimates, not formal valuations
• Pension assumptions and notional valuations may differ from your actual scheme's terms
• Information you enter yourself may be incomplete or incorrect
• AI-generated output can be erroneous (see Section 5)

7. Subscriptions and free trials

• tuckt is free to download. Manual account entry, the net worth dashboard and charts, and budget planning are free to use without a subscription
• Premium features (currently AI analysis and chat, the capital gains tax tracker, retirement planner, wealth reports, and CSV import/export) require an active tuckt Pro subscription
• tuckt Pro includes a 7-day free trial for eligible new subscribers, limited to one free trial per user, with eligibility determined through the Apple App Store
• Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the trial period, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid tuckt Pro subscription at the applicable price
• Subscriptions are available monthly or annually, at the price shown in the App Store at the time of purchase. They are billed via the Apple App Store and managed through RevenueCat, in accordance with Apple's standard subscription terms
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date, via your Apple ID account settings
• If subscription pricing changes, you will be notified in accordance with applicable law and the Apple App Store's applicable terms and processes

8. Cancellation and consumer rights

Your statutory rights, including any rights you may have to cancel a contract for digital content or digital services, are not affected by these Terms. Where your subscription is purchased through the Apple App Store, cancellation and refunds are generally handled through Apple in accordance with Apple's applicable terms and policies, not directly by us.

9. Your content and financial data

• You retain ownership of your financial information, and any other information or personal content you upload to the App
• You grant Dovestar a non-exclusive, limited licence to host, store, reproduce, transmit, and otherwise process your content solely as necessary to provide, maintain, secure, and improve the functionality of the App, in accordance with our Privacy Policy
• This licence ends when your data is deleted, subject to our legitimate retention obligations (see our Privacy Policy)
• You're responsible for the accuracy of data you enter — the App's calculations, tax modelling, and AI insights are only as accurate as the information you provide
• Where the App provides an export function, you may export your data (e.g. via CSV) before deleting your account
• We may in future offer the option to connect a bank account via an open banking partner. If we do, it will be entirely optional; you can use every feature of the App by entering figures manually instead

10. Privacy

Our collection and use of your personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of the information provided to you when using the App.

11. Third-party services

The App may rely on third-party providers for services including payment processing, authentication, cloud hosting, artificial intelligence, open banking, market data, analytics, and communications (currently including RevenueCat for subscription management). If we introduce bank connections in future, they will be processed through secure, FCA-regulated third-party providers, and we will never store your online banking credentials.

We do not control third-party services and cannot guarantee their availability, accuracy, or continued operation. Live pricing and any future bank connection features may not be available at all times.

12. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, hack, or disrupt the App
• Share your account with others
• Use the App or its outputs to provide regulated financial advice or other professional services to third parties without appropriate authorisation
• Attempt to use the AI chat or analysis features for purposes unrelated to your own personal finances

13. Intellectual property

Dovestar owns: the tuckt branding, software, user interface, graphics, content, algorithms, and documentation, protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute the App.

You own: your financial information, and any other information or personal content you upload to the App (see Section 9).

14. Availability and changes to the App

We aim to keep tuckt available and functioning properly, but we do not guarantee that the App will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. We may temporarily suspend access for maintenance, updates, security reasons, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

15. Suspension and termination

You may delete your account at any time via Settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms.

On termination or account deletion:

• Access to premium ("tuckt Pro") features ends immediately; any unused portion of a subscription period is not refundable by us directly (refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple per Section 8)
• Your stored financial data is retained and then deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy
• You may export your data before deletion, where an export function is available (see Section 9)

16. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dovestar Limited is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to financial losses resulting from decisions made using App-provided information, projections, or AI-generated content.

Subject to any liability which cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with your use of the App shall not exceed the greater of £100 and the amount you have paid us for the App during the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

17. Force majeure

We are not responsible for failure or delay caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including internet or telecommunications failures, third-party service outages, cyber incidents, power failures, natural disasters, or changes in law.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms, except where such changes relate to pricing (see Section 7).

19. General legal provisions

Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, invalid, or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed modified to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

Entire agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any other terms expressly incorporated into them, constitute the agreement between you and us regarding your use of the App.

Assignment: We may transfer or assign our rights and obligations under these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or other corporate transaction.

20. Apple App Store terms

If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, the following terms also apply. If they conflict with anything else in these Terms, this section takes precedence in relation to your use of the App downloaded from the Apple App Store.

• Parties: These Terms are between you and Dovestar only, not Apple Inc. ("Apple"). Dovestar, not Apple, is solely responsible for the App and its content.
• Licence: We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App on any Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules set out in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, except that the App may be accessed by other accounts associated with you via Family Sharing where applicable.
• Maintenance and support: Dovestar is solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support for the App. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support services for the App.
• Warranty: Dovestar is solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed. If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) of the App to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty are Dovestar's responsibility, subject to Section 16.
• Product claims: Dovestar, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the App or your possession and use of it, including: (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that the App fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy or similar legislation.
• Intellectual property claims: If any third party claims that the App or your possession and use of it infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, Dovestar, not Apple, is solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that claim.
• Legal compliance: You confirm that you are not located in a country that is subject to a UK or US Government embargo, or that has been designated by the US Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any UK or US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
• Third-party terms: You must comply with any applicable third-party terms of agreement when using the App, such as your mobile network provider's terms.
• Contact: Questions, complaints or claims about the App should be directed to Dovestar using the details in Section 22.
• Third-party beneficiary: Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and on your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.

21. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Subject to any mandatory consumer rights, the courts of England and Wales shall have jurisdiction over disputes arising in connection with these Terms.
